Partnerships
The society, with the partnership of the Chickasaw Nation and the City of Tishomingo, was instrumental in placing plaques and flag poles to designate the gravesites of Oklahoma Governor W. H. Murray, Oklahoma Governor Johnston Murray, Chickasaw Governor Douglas Johnston, and Chickasaw Governor R. M. Harris at the Tishomingo Cemetery.
In addition, the society has partnered with the City of Tishomingo to erect plaques that will be located from Good Spring to the Chickasaw Capitol to provide visitors with historical information concerning that area, including the War Memorial.
Johnston County Commissioners asked the society to accept and maintain all tax records of earlier years for public use.
The Chickasaw Nation has been a partner in the restoration of various portions of the building. The society is in the process of making the tax records easier for all genealogical research by moving the records to the lower floor.
Society members dress in costume for all major events in Tishomingo.
This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
